Your Seller Score gives the clients information on the quality of your online store.


What is the purpose of the Seller Score

  • Increasing your business size by attracting more clients and creating a better image for your store.

How can you see your Seller Score?

You can view your current seller score on the Seller Center homepage.

  • This rating is very important to customers, as it is the first thing they notice before buying any of your products. Work on achieving a score of 5 to be one of the top sellers on Jumia
  • Shipping Speeds: refers to the time it takes for vendors to prepare and drop off orders after receiving them. The faster a vendor prepares and ships orders, the higher their shipping speed KPI will be, which positively impacts their overall Seller Score.
  • Quality rate: The percentage of orders rejected or returned by clients for quality reasons during the past 4 weeks.
  • Average customer rating: Is the average number of stars that have been rated and reviewed  by customers for confirmed purchases in the last 28 days on your seller profile on the website

  • Shipping speed – you have 3 days (Sunday is not included) to ship your order – the faster your ship the better your seller score will be
  • Quality Return rate: The percentage of orders  returned by clients for quality reasons during the past 4 weeks.
  • Average customer rating: Average of approved ratings from the past 4 weeks

How is your Seller Score calculated

NB/It is important to note, that if you reject an order (e.g. because you don’t have the product) or if you don’t drop it off within 3 business days,  the order will be cancelled and rated 0, impacting your shipping speed KPI and your overall Seller Score.


 

How does that affect your customers?

Your Seller Score is available on the pages of all your products. The products of our most successful sellers get a “purchase” rate of up to 10 times higher than other sellers.

 


The rating score that appears is the result of these 3 criteria:

  • Shipping Speeds which equals how fast you are at shipping your items
  • Product quality rate, which equals the returns rate of your store.
  • Average product ratings, offered by your customers after receiving the product.

 


What is the significance of customers’ reviews of your products

Through these comments and reviews, you showcase your credibility to your customers. A customer always cares about the product’s reviews before purchasing.

  •  How can you improve your Seller Score?

– Improve your order cancellation rate by updating your stock every day, so you don’t have to cancel orders again.

– Improve your product quality rating by making sure your description is detailed and accurate, and that you are selling genuine brand products

  • What are the benefits of getting a high seller score?

– By getting a higher rating score “of 3 or more”, you ensure getting more views on the website’s pages and search results, which allows the customers to have more access to your store and view your products, which means more sales.

  • What are the results of getting a low seller score?

By getting a lower rating score “less than 3”, you may be subject to the application of a pending to shipped orders limit on your account. This could happen because of an increase in the cancellation rate, or the quality return rate, or because of non-compliance with the service level agreement that requires processing orders within 72 hours.
Please note that any cancellations done from the customer’s side or returns done because the customers changed their mind do not affect your rating.
