What are the penalties?
As a Jumia seller, you have agreed to the terms and conditions related to your right to sell through Jumia. In case you do not comply with these terms, Jumia will have the right to apply penalties to your account.
– The purpose of these penalties is divided into two parts:
• Protecting your customers from receiving wrong products, and always maintaining client satisfaction.
• Protecting you as a seller from losing potential sales and customers.

You don’t have to pay the penalty in cash, as it is automatically deducted from your account statement on the Vendor center.

Penalty for counterfeit products – This is applied when counterfeit products are displayed/sold on Jumia.
What is the value of the penalty?
– Penalty for counterfeit products:
First time: The product will be removed, and a 20,000Kes penalty will be applied if you do not provide documentation that proves that you are selling authentic products within 10 business days from the date you were contacted and informed about the creation of counterfeit product on Jumia’s website.
The second time: The product will be removed, and a Kes 20,000 penalty will be applied if you do not provide documentation that proves that you are selling authentic products within 10 business days, and your store will be permanently delisted.

*If you have any questions or concerns regarding any product, you can always raise a claim here before creating it to avoid any potential penalties.
If your Seller score is < 3, you will receive less traffic and you will be charged a “contribution for low seller score” which is calculated as a percentage of your commission.
